How to Apply for an OFS Crew
- Consider the conservation or community development projects you need done, and estimate how long it will take a crew of six to eight corps members to do them. The OFS Projects Coordinator can help you with this, and will schedule a local informational meeting if requested.
- Request a project application or download one from the OFS website. Consider the financial and in-kind obligations. You need to have the necessary materials, supplies, and specialized equipment on hand, or have the necessary funds available.
- Submit the completed project application, signed by the person involved in developing the work plan and responsible for its implementation. There is no deadline for submission. Applications will be accepted throughout the year.
- OFS Projects staff will review application and notify you of necessary or suggested modifications. Projects Coordinator may make arrangements to inspect proposed work site.
- Upon approval, sponsor and Projects Coordinator organize logistics and details of project. Project start date is scheduled according to needs of sponsor and availability of crew.
