Operation Fresh Start will provide the necessary tools and equipment. A Social Security card and government photo ID are required before date of hire. OFS staff are ready to assist in acquiring these forms of documentation.

No prior construction experience is required. You will get paid to train on various construction projects, with placement on a Tier 1 or Tier 2 crew based on your experience level.
Tier 1
Build Academy Tier 1 members gain experience in residential construction, working on home renovations or new-construction projects. Earn certifications in OSHA 10 safety and fall protection, first aid and CPR, and a pre-apprenticeship certification from the Wisconsin Bureau of Apprenticeship Standards.
You’ll also gain construction math and employability skills and get support with earning your driver’s license, if needed. Upon earning the necessary credentials and achieving proficiency in certain construction skills, you’ll move up to Tier 2.
Tier 2
Build Academy Tier 2 members gain experience in commercial construction, working alongside industry professionals on multi-million dollar projects. Build job search skills, work on a career transition plan and job shadow with local employers.
